The Isar River is 295 km long, originates from the Karwendel mountains in Tirol and flows through Bad Tölz to Munich into the Danube near Deggendorf.

  • Beer: At the Reichenbachbrücke (Fraunhoferstrasse) is a kiosk where you can buy beer in the evening and take it to the Isar river. It is a popular meeting place for locals and tourists.
  • Nudism is common at the Isar. It is celebrated below the Flaucherbrücke and on the Isar Islands. 
  • Grilling: BBQing is only allowed at the Flaucherbrücke. Accordingly, the cool barbecue party people are between Flaucherbrücke and Zoobrücke. If you like outdoor partys you are right here. The shops and gas stations near sell disposable barbecues.
