Munich's Toy Museum is located in the tower of the Old Town Hall at Marienplatz. Here, the museum commemorates, with its quaint tower rooms, a doll's house and evokes childhood memories of grandmother's time. The exhibition shows dolls, plush toys, model trains and tin toys from more than 200 years on over four floors.
Toy Museum on Marienplatz
The heart of the Toy Museum are exhibits from the archives of the former famous German toy manufacturer Elastolin Hausser. He is especially known for its mass figures and is now regarded as a pioneer of Playmobil, Lego & Co. In addition to nostalgic toys, the collection also references the modern world of toys. On the third floor are about 100 Barbie dolls displayed, including the first Barbie from 1959.
In the Toy Museum the teddy bears are waiting!

While Dad visits the Toy Museum with the kids, Mom can talk a look at the shop windows at Kaufingerstrasse ;-)
